Secretary: Lorene Irons

I am currently working in Moscow for the Moscow School District, as a para pro at Russell and at Paradise Creek Regional High School as the Adjunct Social Science Teacher. I worked for several years in California at a software company, in marketing and as a support tech coordinator. I graduated from the University of Idaho with my B.A. in History in 2001 and with my Masters in Conservation & Interpretation last spring, with certification in Special Education and Social Sciences. I am currently working on my Masters in Special Education and towards my Doctorate in Administration. I have a nine-year-old boy (C.J.) and I am actively involved in Scouts with him for the past three years, not only as a Den Leader, but also on committees and working on summer programs.

A big “thank you” to Matt Kitterman for his time as treasurer, and all his efforts handling the finances, and organizing and improving board communications.

Board Member: Tessa Graham

Tessa moved to Pullman this past summer from the San Francisco bay area. She received her BA in Economics and Public Health from the University of California Berkeley, and since then has worked in healthcare management at The Marin Community Clinic, Kaiser Permanente, and now Gritman Medical Center in Moscow. Tessa has also worked with many non-profit organizations in various capacities, including grant writing, trainings, curriculum and program development, and her most recent position as president of the board for Rebuilding Together.

She is excited to be able to contribute to such a wonderful cause in her new community through serving on the board of Adventure Learning Camps. Tessa’s enthusiasm for the mission of Adventure Learning Camps stems from a childhood growing up in the Northern California mountains and the outback of Australia. These experiences have led to her love and appreciation for the outdoors which Tessa demonstrates through her current activities in backpacking, hiking, and camping. Additionally, Tessa is especially passionate about creating well-being in the community and recognizes the great contribution Adventure Learning Camps is making towards this goal. In fact, Tessa is currently taking her career in the direction of promoting wellness in the community, particularly in families, through coursework to become a Certified Holistic Health Counselor, Personal Trainer, and Pilates Instructor. She looks forward to integrating wellness and nutrition into the Adventure Learning Camps curriculum as well as utilizing her non-profit management background to help make Adventure Learning Camps a sustainable and well-known organization that can bring it’s gift to the wider community.

Board Member: Kate Kelly

I was born in the Midwest where I enjoyed a happy childhood of many summers, outdoors, boating on the Great Lakes. Transplanted to California, as a teen, we spent years sailing the ocean blue. But it wasn’t until graduate school, at the University of Idaho, that I discovered what Donal Wilkinson calls, “The Wild Places”.

The Northwest, primarily, has provided, for me, a continuous invitation to adventure, especially for a mother (of two, now grown, children), a former elementary school teacher, tennis coach/instructor, and free-lance writer. I’m proud to offer any support possible to Adventure Learning Camps to assist them in continuing to provide invaluable experiences and treasured memories to people of all ages.
